Mortgage bankers taps former board chair as CEO

MBA invokes immediate succession plan, naming former board chair John Courson COO Aug. 1 and president in five months. The Mortgage Bankers Association will turn to an industry veteran and their former board chairman for leadership as the housing and lending crisis continues to roil the economy and MBA’s membership. John A. Courson, MBA’s board chair in 2003, will become chief operating officer Aug. 1 and take over as president Jan. 1, 2009.
